Show 3-07: Kokanee Salmon
WILD New Mexico takes you Kokanee snagging at Navajo Lake. It’s become a tradition, much like the annual spawning run that created it. Every fall and winter anglers have a chance to reel these tasty fish in by the dozens. See how you too could be stock piling your freezer with delicious Salmon. Then famed fishing guide Don Wolfley lets you in on his secret for grilling up great tasting Kokanee. And we’ll take you to a little-known winter wonderland that makes for some magnificent views.

Show 4-07: Simunitions Training
Its not what you would normally consider part of the job, but game wardens have to be ready for just about anything, even a gun battle. In this episode of WILD New Mexico, you’ll see how the New Mexico Department of Game and Fish is making sure their officers are prepared for even the worst.
Then we’ll show you how the state is turning the table as they put the spotlight on illegal hunters. And east meets west on the camp stove when the Cast Iron Ranger cooks up curry buffalo.

Show 5-07: Quail Season
Quail season is a time many hunters spend with their best friends, including the four-legged ones and that gives us the perfect opportunity to see why man’s best friend also makes one heck of a hunting partner. Then former Chairman of the state Game Commission, Jamie Koch introduces you to his favorite breed of hunting dog, the Pudelpointer. And from the field to the fire, the Cast Iron Ranger shows you how to cook up your Quail New Mexico style.

Show 6-07: Big Game Hunts / CWD
In this episode of WILD New Mexico, we look at Chronic Wasting Disease. Luckily the number of cases in our state is extremely low compared to some of our western neighbors. The New Mexico Department of Game and Fish is working very hard to keep tabs on the disease. We’ll show you what they’re doing and what they need you to do to help. Plus, we’ll take you to the only place in North America where hunters can pursue free ranging Oryx, it’s right here in New Mexico. And one of the worlds top Sporting Clay shooters, Rick Camuglia fires up the stove, instead of his gun so he can show you how to cook up a delicious Oryx Parmesan.

Show 7-07: Enjoying Your Harvest
One of the most important jobs when harvesting an animal is properly field dressing it, so it doesn’t spoil before you get it home. WILD New Mexico, shows you how the right tools and proper temperatures will insure you get to enjoy the fruits of your labor. Then once your harvested animal has been field dressed and transported correctly, its time to turn it into tender steaks, chops and burgers. Mike Perea of Eagle Rock Food Company in Albuquerque is licensed to do just that and he’ll show you some of the tricks to his trade.

Show 8-07: Brown Trout in the Rio Grande Gorge
Its know for spectacular views and exciting rafting, but the Rio Grande Gorge also makes for some of the best trout fishing in the northern part of our state. As WILD New Mexico shows you in this episode, it takes some work to get to this fishing hole, but its well worth every step. And you’ll get a behind the scenes look at how the New Mexico Department of Game and Fish makes sure there’s plenty there for anglers to catch. Then, state Legislator Lucky Varela was born and raised on the Pecos River. He learned to swim and fish there and he learned how to cook trout over an open fire. He’ll show you the mouth watering recipe he’s been using for years.
